Do not start with the cosmetic finish
Water at the cove joint can result from surface drainage, hydrostatic pressure, wall leakage, slab pathways or plumbing. The joint is often the exit point rather than the entry point.

Ask which layer failed, what trigger activates it, how far the pathway may extend and what evidence will show that the source—not only the visible mark—was addressed.
