This verification guide helps test whether a symptom stayed resolved; it does not certify workmanship or guarantee a repair. Inspect water shedding, interfaces and concealed consequences through suitable weather events.
Return to the original baseline
Use the same location, trigger, time lag, operating state, weather context and observation method recorded before work. Preserve completion photographs, readings and changes to hidden layers.
Challenge the repair fairly
- Wait through the original rain, freeze, heat, occupancy or equipment cycle.
- Use fixed observation or measurement points.
- Compare an unaffected control where possible.
- Record temporary controls that could mask recurrence.
Improvement is not always resolution. A lower reading, weaker odor or smaller stain may still require a defined follow-up period.
Outcome language
Use unresolved, improving, resolved under tested conditions or recurrence detected. State the tested conditions and limitations rather than making an absolute claim.
Escalation and maintenance
Define the threshold for renewed investigation, the owner of maintenance and the next review date. Stop ordinary self-help when there is active electrical or combustion danger, sewage, suspected hazardous material, unstable structure, unsafe access, rapidly spreading water, regulated work, acute occupant symptoms or an insurance-preservation reason not to disturb the scene.
