Build a comparable baseline
For roof penetration layering: what it means in a house, record the exact location, dimensions, first-seen date, recent weather, equipment state, water use and occupancy. Photograph one unaffected reference area from the same distance and light. Repeat the observation before changing finishes, airflow or cleaning routines so the original signal remains available.
Compare more than one pathway
Keep at least two plausible explanations visible. Ask what each pathway predicts about timing, height, direction, temperature, odor, sound or recovery. A clean surface or one quiet day is not proof; the verification should address the original pathway and affected layers.
