Do not start with the cosmetic finish
Eave leaks during snow conditions can reflect ice-dam backup, flashing defects or attic heat loss. The ice is often a symptom of heat and airflow conditions as well as drainage.
Define the repair question
Ask which layer failed, what trigger activates it, how far the pathway may extend and what evidence will show that the source—not only the visible mark—was addressed.
